More Details

Quectel EM160R-GL is an LTE Advanced Category 16 module. Adopting the 3GPP Release 14 technology, it delivers speed of 1.0 Gbps downlink and 150 Mbps uplink peak data rates, and is designed in M.2 form factor.

EM160R-GL is designed for global market and nearly covers all the mainstream carriers worldwide.

EM160R-GL supports Qualcomm® IZat™ location technology Gen8C Lite (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo). The integrated GNSS greatly simplifies product design, and provides quicker, more accurate and more dependable positioning capability.

A rich set of Internet protocols, industry-standard interfaces and abundant functionalities (PCIe interface/USB drivers for Windows, Linux, Android/eCall) extend the applicability of the module to a wide range of applications such as industrial router, home gateway, STB, industrial laptop, consumer laptop, industrial PDA, rugged tablet PC, video surveillance and digital signage, etc.

Key Benefits

● LTE-A Cat 16 module with M.2 form factor
● Support DL 5x carrier aggregation and 256QAM
● Worldwide LTE-A and UMTS/HSPA+ coverage
● Support PCIe standard interface for PC/Laptop application

NOTE: The current EM160R-GL modems may be new “Engineering Samples”

NOT RECOMMENDED for use with the older versions M2M NEXG H721 due to this router’s high rate of burn out failures.  We will warranty NO modems that are used in the M2M NEXG H721 router. We have not tested the V5 version.

IMPORTANT:  Exercise extreme caution while installing MHF4 connectors to the modem antenna ports.  The ports are delicate and easily damaged.  Assure that the MHF4 connector is perfectly centered, level and aligned with the modem port.  The MFH4 connector will then snap into place using minimum pressure. Do not apply excessive force.
A damaged modem connector port is not covered under warranty.

It is strongly recommended to invest in a quality power strip surge protector (i.e., APC, Belkin,…) to use behind a router and/or electronic equipment.  This will help protect against Transients (momentary spikes/surges in voltage or current) that can be detrimental to expensive equipment.  Transient damage to modems are not covered under warranty.  Protect your equipment!

I had been using a Mofi4500v2 for a couple years. Live on a mountain with poor reception using external antennas. On a good day, would get 1.5mb download. With this thing, using almost the same antenna set up, I easily get 25-35mb. I actually hit 115mb once for a hour or so, but only happened that one time. I am using the same simm card I had in the Mofi. It has been amazing in the difference. If you have been using something like a Mofi, and can do it, UPGRADE, you won’t regret it.

Per recommendations of LTE, I got it with the WG1608D-M 5G Ready Cellular Gigabit Router. The router has been doing fine, I might drop signal once a week and it won’t reconnect without a hard reboot. I don’t like the firmware that LTE has on it because their is nothing in there for GPS and I can’t find a way to add it. Don’t get me wrong, it it great firmware that is very customizable, Other than that. I would most definitely do it again.

LTE folks are above the best as far as customer service and their support. They answer phones, they follow up and have the answers when you ask or will get back quickly if they don’t.

Thank you LTEFix (Richard). You improved ours lives concerning our internet experience!

Fast shipping, and great support after the sale. Even though I managed to lose the LTE interface on my Microtik LHG due to my own ignorance, I was provided support that helped me to get it back to MBIM mode and the response was near instant when I called.
